Sophie Rose Thomas was married Saturday to Douglas Linn Goodwillie on Nantucket in Massachusetts. The Rev. Joy A. Baumgartner, a minister of the United Church of Christ, performed the ceremony at the First Congregational Church, where she is the interim senior minister. Mrs. Goodwillie, 30, is the senior manager of marketing and communications for Ralph Lauren Home, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren, in New York. She graduated from Trinity College in Hartford. She is the daughter of Daniele C. Thomas of Cambridge, Mass., and the late David K. Thomas. Her mother retired as a news reporter in London for the BBC World Service, broadcasting to France and Africa. Her father was a senior vice president and a portfolio manager in the international department for Putnam Investments in Boston. Mr. Goodwillie, 33, works for Arsenal Capital Partners, a private investment firm in New York, where he specializes in the financial services sector; he is responsible for evaluating companies for potential investment. He graduated from Kenyon College and received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is a son of Marcia L. Harrison of Washington and Eugene W. Goodwillie Jr. of Montclair, N.J. His mother retired as an assistant state’s attorney for the city of Baltimore. His father is a partner in and former chairman of the management board of White & Case, the New York law firm. The bridegroom is a stepson of Janie Lorentzen Goodwillie.
